Though it’s taken some time, I’ve finally learned to trust my instincts. I don’t exactly remember my first email exchange with Lori, but I know we connected over living in the San Francisco Bay Area (her currently, me formerly). We were both raising young children and trying to build our photography businesses at the same time. We were feeling the small victories and the unending challenges in the everyday. We had a lot in common. But we were both really busy so our communication was brief before we went back to our lives. My sense was that if we lived closer we would be great friends. I was right. Sort of.
In the year and a half since Lori and I first “met” in an online photographer’s forum we have quietly grown to be great friends, despite the distance. I’m not exactly sure how it happened (an email here, a phone call there, finally a lunch date when she was in SD visiting family), but I’m so grateful it did. Lori is an amazing person and phenomenal photographer (you can check out her work HERE) and I consider myself so lucky to call her my friend. When she asked me to photograph her family I was ecstatic! There is nothing more exciting (or nerve-wracking, to be honest) than photographing another photographer, especially someone you admire. It is an honor I can’t quite explain.
I don’t think we could’ve possibly fit any more fun into the time we spent together San Francisco! This is exactly the type of session that makes my heart happy…full of laughter, love, and pure joy. To say I’m happy with these photos would be a huge understatement. I adore them. Just like I adore the people in them. Lori and her beautiful family are beyond awesome and it was such a pleasure to create these memories with them. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
